JOTT – Jamboree On The Trail – May 9th

CrestJamboree On The Trail is an annual day for the World Scout Movement to hike together.  All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are invited to participate whatever way they can.  All Groups that ‘take a walk’ on this date qualify for the crest ($2 each).  If you register by Mar 31, you’ll have them before JOTT.  Click -HERE- for info & registration, late registrations are just fine.  Good hiking!

Council Voting Member Nominees now Posted

Click -HERE- for a bio for each of the nominees.  3 of these 6 folks will be representing CEC at National.  Interesting and important.  Online election Apr 15th thru May 15th.  I’ve registered the voters from Wellington Area, I suspect most of you didn’t bother to register your Group’s voters.

Another Perspective on Immigration

What’s happening here may be happening in Guelph as well.  Our demographics are changing in many of the same ways.  Are we servicing this sector of our population?  Thanks to John Plumadore (Director of Community Development, Scouts Canada). Click -HERE- for the Toronto Star article.

Trails End Chocolatey Peanut Clusters – RECALL

As of Mar 20th, the FDA has expanded their recall to include the Peanut Corporation of America’s Texas facility.  This has affected the product listed above.  This information has been posted on the National website.  Click -HERE- for the Scouts Canada statement, -HERE- for the Weaver Popcorn press release (the makers of Trails End), and -HERE- for a picture of the affected product.  The Scouts Canada statement is where you should start.  The recall is posted on the FDA site in the US and the CFIA site here in Canada.  Media calls should be forwarded to the National Office as it has nothing to do with us locally.
