Wellington Membership

Hey we’re getting up there.  Now at 86% of last year (801 vs. last year’s 939).  We need to keep on working, remember the S.T.E.P. program mentioned here in the past.  Remember the PIZZA PARTY for the Colony/Pack/Troop sections, one winner from each section (where the group is UP from last year’s registration #)!  Even something as simple as clearing up PRC’s and following-up those prospective leaders would take us to 92% immediately.  Remember the CEC target this year, 101% of last year’s youth!

CEC Annual Reporting Meeting – Sun Nov 30

Taking place at the Bolton Rotary Centre (Caledon Centre for Recreation & Wellness).  14111 Regional Road 50, Bolton, ON 1-4pm.  All Scouters welcome, full uniform, AC’s, DAC’s, GC’s, teams welcome and expected :-).

Mapquest tells me the fastest way to get there (probably 1 1/4hrs driving):

– 401/407 to 427 North

– left at Hwy 7 (Reg Rd 7) exit towards Brampton

– right at Huntington Rd

– slight right when it turns to Reg Rd 50, on the right after 16km

Letter From a Parent – It IS Worthwhile!

“An 8-year-old Cub just walked in the door, grinning ear-to-ear. He had a fabulous time at camp (this was his first night away) and can’t stop talking about everything that you guys did. He learned so much in a short 24-hours and tried some things he’s never done before. Thanks to you and the other guys Ed, for putting so much into these boys. It can’t be an easy gig, but when we see how much Jack loves this… and how it’s helping him grow and develop… it sure shows how worthwhile your work is. Please pass along my thanks to all the other leaders as well – you guys are great mentors.”
Ed, you know who you are.  Thanks for forwarding it Lawrence.

Video Games Live

While it’s not my cup of tea, nor do I in any way endorse this activity, Video Games Live is being presented by the KW Symphony Orchestra Mar 13’09 at The Centre in the Square.  They’re offering a 10% discount on Scouting groups of 10 or more, 20% for 20 or more.  It’s aimed at Scouts, and Venturers.  Anyway, an interesting alternative event for a Fri night even if somewhat expensive.  Click -HERE- for info & links to the KWS and the show website.  It has, and does, tour North America.
