Little Sioux, Iowa Scout Tornado Tradgedy Update

As a brief followup, for those of you who remember the tornado in Iowa during which 4 Scouts in camp lost their lives, click on this -LINK-.   The leadership group has received a Hero award, and we all stand in awe of what the youth have accomplished.

CEC Website is back on line

For those of you who noticed, National’s website crashed on the weekend, and of course CEC is hosted on the same servers.  While National was back up for Tue, CEC didn’t return until last night.  Thanks to the support staff for getting it back, and now YOU can get your forms…

Bag Signs – how are you publicizing your groups?

Shawn Jones, our DAC Membership and Growth, has found another interesting opportunity.  You could purchase a dozen signs ($5 each, we get them wholesale cost), have them printed with something like ‘9th Guelph Scouts – Apple Day HERE —–>>>’.  Just push the wireframe into the ground, drop on the sign.  They last until they’re stolen, or ripped.  What if you had a sign you put out at the street on meeting nights, something like ‘9th Guelph Cub Pack – Meeting HERE Tonight —->>>’.   (Hey Diane, it’s just an example :-).  In any case, if you’re interested, click -HERE- for a graphic, or give Shawn a call (he’s on the contact list on the Wellington website). Apple Day 2008 – First Info Letter

Apple Day is almost here, and Len Wiley our Apple Day Co-ordinator has put together his introduction. Please work with him, and let’s get the planning underway.  We’re only talking 4 weeks here.  This year we have the challenges of Stone Road and Willow West Malls being closed to us due to insurance regulations and contract requirements.  Len is working hard at co-ordinating a successful weekend without them.  (If you’re interested, Stone Rd. is one of 4 malls, managed by the same company, that Scouting can no longer use within CEC).  Click -HERE- for Len’s letter.
