H1N1a (Swine Flu) Mitigation Strategy – IMPORTANT

Subject: Urgent message from Scouts Canada, Central Admin Centre

RE: Swine Flu Mitigation Strategy

Dear Scouting members and families:

As I’m sure you’re aware, the recent outbreak of Swine flu is becoming a great concern and has the possibility of being considered a level 6 pandemic by The World Health Organization.

If the World Health Organization does announce that the virus is at Level 6 (currently at Level 5), Scouts Canada, along with government departments, municipal and regional governments and school boards, will likely postpone all gathering including regular Scout meetings, camping and special events.

In keeping with our Duty of Care policy we are providing you with advance notice of this possibility, to ensure you and your family are able to make alternate arrangements. We will do our best to keep you informed of any updates or chances that may arise.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 416-490-6364, extension 234, or email me at mailto:jplumadore@scouts.ca .
